i just got back from the gym and i'm dripping with sweat. i haven't been to the gym in ages it seems. i got off work at a usual time rather than staying late to catch up, so i was in good spirits when i got home. i re-heated my delicious asian noodle soup that i had made from scratch yesterday and then i headed off to master the stairmaster. i'm glad i went and i hope i can make it a habit to go after work instead of waiting to go on my days off.

last night we decided at the last minute to go to the magnetic fields. c got a half price ticket at work, so i headed out to scratch to pick up one more. we didn't want to arrive too early, but ended up arriving just before the first act started. he was some inoffensive guy from australia who sounded just like billy bragg but instead of singing about politics, he sang about break-ups. meh. i didn't think i'd love the magnetic fields this time round. i had seen them about 6 or 7 years ago in seattle at the crocodile and stephin merritt got off stage, wandering the crowd and sang an entire song as he wrapped his mic cord around and around me and my friend randy! how can you beat that? but it ended up being pretty good and he sang lots of their older stuff. i wasn't swooning this time around, nor was i making moaning sounds at the start of every song like the girl at my right, but it was damned enjoyable. the bonus was leaving the vogue at 11pm and being in bed a half hour later. i am definitely getting old.
