the funniest thing about the news coverage in toronto was watching all the 'regular dudes' standing in the middles of intersections directing traffic during the blackout. i couldn't stop laughing. cornelius said that whenever he's witnessed an accident, one of the drivers (always male) would always direct the traffic. he says it's a power thing -- a guy thing. i just don't get it. but it made me laugh out loud several times.
i've been crafty. i've been making felty fridge magnets and last night i've been doing transfers on wood. it's pretty exciting. i never realized how good stevenson acrylic medium is. my transfers look great -- considering i've never done one before. it's like screenprinting without all the hard work and equiptment! transfering. who knew??
my five days of work is finally over. i didn't realize how much i hate working a regular work week. i must be totally spoiled. but i did manage to get lots of work done this past week. i guess when you have little time to waste you don't bother wasting it. and speaking of little time to waste, tonight i'm going to be making a lovely coconut-lemon buttercream layer cake (with fresh blackberries to decorate) for my friend's birthday. thanks to arajane for the recipe. i'm excited. it's going to be a good weekend of birthday fun. cake-making. horse-races. rib-eating. gift-giving. beer-drinking. and what makes it even better is that it isn't even my birthday!!
