I am the apple in the eye of domesticity! Today I washed the kitchen & bathroom floors hands and knees style, cleaned the bathtub, did the dishes, swept the bedroom floor, tidied and vacuumed the livingroom and got rid of a bunch of clutter. I also made an incredible dinner consisting of panko-breaded cod served ontop of a black bean and corn salad and greens. Topping that off with an amazing apple cake that tasted way better than the words "apple cake" could ever sound. Today I was a housewife extraordinaire and I didn't mind one bit.

When Cornelius got home from work, he brought home the lastest Georgia Strait and I read this depressing article about the state of Vancouver real estate. No longer can nurses, teachers or police officers buy a home in Vancouver...not to mention artsy poor-girl designers! Who cares that we've already got a whopping downpayment ready, we can't afford to buy anything. Even most one bedroom condos are out of our price range. The article states:

Last month, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver reported that the average sale price of a single-family home was $705,141. Townhouses averaged $397,214 and condos sold for an average of $321,151.
Yup, I guess we'll be renting forever here in Vancouver. Sucky thoughts to end a pretty nice weekend.
