why are summers so great? well, it can be summed up in one word: blenders. 
c and i have been making pink blender drinks up the wazoo. yesterday's afternoon drink contained peaches, strawberries, cherries, lime juice, cranberry juice, club soda and ice. mmm delicious! and it's even better with a splash of rum or vodka. hail the mighty pink drink!
yesterday we rode our bikes to new brighton park by the exhibition grounds. it was pretty great. we drew each other's portraits and relaxed under the shade of a tree. the park had a great outdoor swimming pool and it wasn't super busy for a saturday afternoon. i want to come back to swim there on weekday mornings. i haven't been swimming in ages and i absolutely love it. when i was a kid, i was a really great swimmer. i was pretty fast tho i did suck at the butterfly stroke. i don't think i could bring those glory days back, but it would be nice to be back in the pool.
we are making plans for a 3 week september road trip to my parent's house in ontario. we'll go through the states on the way there with a 3 day stop in chicago and we'll come back through canada back to vancouver. i'm so excited. and cornelius will meet my parents. eek!
